The United Story
To Our United Family – Past, Current, and Future:
I want to thank you for taking the time to read our story. You are our extended family – our United Family. The United Family continues to grow daily, and we continue to be amazed by the growth and success of our programs. We are humbled by your trust and loyalty. We are blessed by the opportunity to serve so many families and help young athletes reach their goals – to watch them turn their dreams into realities.
When we opened in Keller in April 2007, we hoped to create a different kind of cheer gym built around one word – FAMILY. We wanted an environment where everyone felt welcome and where everyone enjoyed the experience – athletes, parents, and coaches working together to achieve success. We also wanted to be known as a training facility for athletes. We understood the athletic skills required to participate in our sport, and we wanted to train these skills. We built our programs around proper progression and proper technique. Success came through hard work, persistence, and dedication. We were passionate about the sport, our athletes’ progression, and our teams’ success, and that passion has only grown through the years.
Within 3 years, we had outgrown our facility and were ready to look for a new home. As our programs grew, we sought out like-minded, passionate coaches to join our staff. Many of our original staff members were former athletes who understood the “United Way”. They helped shape and nurture the culture of our gym. They helped instill the values we still hold in high regard today – self-discipline, self-motivation, loyalty, persistence, and dedication.
When the opportunity was presented to extend the United Family beyond Keller, we were ready for the challenge and excited to be able to offer our brand of cheer to a new audience. We opened in Arlington in April 2010 and welcomed a new community into the United Family.
Once we opened the second facility, we knew it couldn’t stop there. Through a series of blessed events, we were reunited with an old friend and colleague, Jason McMahan, who joined our team to open United Cheer Dallas in January 2013.
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. We’ve had our ups and downs, our successes and failures. We’ve made our fair share of mistakes and fallen flat on our faces plenty of times. What’s pushed us through is our belief in what we are doing, our passion for the sport, and our love for our athletes. We knew we couldn’t let the families down that trusted us with their most precious assets – their children.
We don’t know where this journey will take us next. We can’t see what tomorrow holds, but we know the One that holds tomorrow so we aren’t worried about it. We focus on today, on building a company based on faith and family, and on building into our athletes – both mentally and physically. We know what they learn here is much more than cheerleading and tumbling – it’s life, and we know we have a responsibility to do it right.
If you aren’t a member of the United Family, we want to thank you for considering United, and we hope we earn the privilege of serving your family. If you are a member of the United Family, we want to thank you for your continued support. You have allowed us to realize our dreams by helping your children realize theirs.
One Team, One Family, One Mission – United as One!
